The Dukes of Hazzard Season 6 was just released on DVD. I'd like to review this for you. The disks are back to being two sided again, but they play well. There are only two photos on the back of the box that die hard Dukes fans will notice if not immediately.
There's a photo of Bo and Luke sitting in the General Lee. It is very obvious that this was a photo taken during the first reunion movie, as you will notice the banners in the background. And if you look real close at John's face, you can see that it is pasted on with photoshop. They put the faces of John and Tom from the series over the faces of the new photo. They doctored it up a bit, they didn't think we'd find out, well I spotted it.
And there is another photo of the General Lee flying through the air in front of the bank, you can tell this is a doctored photo as well. Because the General never made the jump in the photo that they have here. Check them out and see if you can see what I'm talking about.
This season was pretty good, considering towards the end of the season they started using minitures for the jumps. Of course Paul Baxley quit when he found out. Like Tom said, it was embarrassing for them to do this to this show. What a shame or better yet as Rosco might say "shame, shame everybody knows your name."
This season also saw several episodes where that Boss wasn't out to run the Dukes in or frame them for something. They also tried to recapture that old magic of earlier episodes this season. By having two Roscos, as they did in an episode in previous years with Boss Hogg's twin brother.
Also this season there was a very good episode called "Targets: Daisy and Lulu" written by that wonderful writer Bruce Howard. Bruce could really write a great story, as he has done in seasons past. And the episode "Boss Behind Bars" I think they wanted to recapture what they had in the episode "The Days of Shine and Roses" where Boss and Jesse get into an old ridge runner moonshine race. This is exactly what takes place in this episode and Jesse sporting his old time hat.
All in all a season box set you will want to have.
